There will be a public informational meeting on November 3rd 2025 at 6pm for the budget.

​Now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Big Flats Fire District #1 has adopted a proposed Annual Fire District Budget for 2026 as of this date for purposes of discussion and review at the Budget Hearing to be held on the 23rd day of October, 2025 and a copy of the proposed budget is available at the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Big Flats and at the office of the Big Flats Fire District Secretary at the fire station located at 505 Maple Street, Big Flats, New York where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours.  In addition, a copy of the proposed budget is posted on the fire company's website, and copies of the proposed budget will be available on the night of the said hearing.

​Preliminary Budget

Notice is hereby given that the annual election of the Big Flats Fire District #1 will take place on December 9, 2025 between the hours of 6pm and 9pm at the Big Flats Fire Station located at 505 Maple Street, Town of Big Flats, Chemung County, New York for the purpose of electing two commissioners, one for a five year term commencing January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2030. All residents of the Fire District duly registered with Chemung County Board of Elections as of November 16, 2025, shall be eligible to vote.​ Candidates for the District Offices shall have filed their names with the Secretary of the Big Flats Fire District #1, 505 Maple Street, Big Flats, NY 14814 no later than November 19, 2025 at 5pm. Request shall include which office sought, candidate's printed name, address, signature, and date. This notice is given pursiant to Town Law, Section 175(1).
